One-year Master’s degree programs

One-year Master’s degree programs at CEU typically run for 10 months, admitting students who have a four-year Bachelor’s degree. They include an orientation session, two 12-week semesters, and a two-month Spring Session where students prepare their thesis or research.

The programs are approved and registered by the New York State Education Department. In addition, some of the one-year programs are accredited in Hungary as Master’s Level Further Specialization Degrees.

Two-year Master’s degree programs

Two-year Master’s degree programs at CEU, typically admitting students who have a three-year Bachelor’s degree, are increasing in number. This follows the reforms of the Bologna process and the requirements for degree program accreditation in Hungary.

The programs are approved and registered by the New York State Education Department. In addition, they are either accredited, or in the process of being accredited, by the Hungarian Accreditation Committee.

Erasmus Mundus Master’s degree programs

CEU is a partner institution in several Erasmus Mundus consortia, offering two-year Master’s degree programs in the following areas:

  • Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management (MESPOM)
  • European Women’s and Gender History (MATILDA)
  • The Joint European Master in Women’s and Gender Studies (GEMMA)
  • Public Policy (Mundus MAPP)
